Alana is a versatile pattern comprising a shirt, shorts and a reversible bucket hat.
The Hawaiian-style casual shirt has a left breast pocket, revers collar, front facing, side slits, short sleeves and is fastened with Velcro, buttons or snaps.
The whole ensemble is ideal beach wear, just perfect for a doll's vacation, for wearing on board a boat, or just for playing in the park or the garden.
The shirt and shorts will also make super summer pajamas.
Suitable fabrics for shirtmaking are cotton lawn, cheesecloth, linen, cotton/linen mix or poly cotton. Stripes and ginghams are great for shirts, whether woven or printed, although you may need to "fussy cut" the pocket piece so that your pattern matches. If your fabric stripe or plaid is printed, I recommend that you use the grain markings to follow the printed fabric pattern rather than the woven grainline just in case the fabric is printed off-grain.
This one size pattern fits both 18 inch dolls and the 15 inch baby/twins dolls. You can see both dolls wearing the same outfits in the photographs.
This pattern is a great way to learn pattern matching techniques (for the shirt pocket), and the shirts, shorts and reversible hat will all prove to be great wardrobe basics for your dolls.
Please note: you are buying an original PDF downloadable doll clothes pattern by Genine Allan, not a finished doll's outfit. The dolls and accessories are not for sale.
THE PATTERN IS A PDF FILE. YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT THE PATTERN YOURSELF.
You will need a PDF reader program such as Adobe Reader or Nitro PDF Reader to open this pattern file. Both programs are free and can be easily downloaded via a search engine such as Google.
Because of the digital nature of the pattern, refunds will not be offered, however I will work with you to ensure that you are able to print out your pattern successfully, and I am only an email away if you have any questions.

My doll patterns fit the popular 18 inch soft bodied dolls such as the American Girl Doll, Gotz Precious Day series, Mme Alexander, Our Generation and Springfield dolls. Some of the patterns also fit the Bitty Baby and Bitty Twins dolls. If in doubt, please ask! All the patterns are tested extensively before being offered for sale.
