Pattern Description:

My cat Mr. T made my life crazy tracking litter everywhere in spite of the rug I kept under his litter box. On hardwood floors it is disgusting and I vacuumed every day but it wasn't enough. My friend has 10 cats and they clean the 2 litter boxes 3 times a day but tracked litter was everywhere. I decided to fix this problem for both of us. There is still an occasional piece of litter, but the tray has dramatically reduced the mess. She warned me one of her kitties always pees on a new carpet pieces she puts under the boxes, and sure enough he did on this tray too, but she said it cleaned easily by rinsing under the faucet in the tub. I noticed quite a pile of litter on my cats tray when I was going out the door, no time to clean then so I just lifted the edge and it rolled back by the box till I could get time to clean things up. Life is much easier now.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Size is entirely up to you- allow 10-12" on each side of the litter box that your kitty can exit from

Materials:

Vinyl -size wanted +4" for width and size wanted +4" for length
Easy Liner Shelf Liner or No Slip Rug fabric size of tray minus 1" width and length
Sewing machine, scissors, long ruller or yardstick, thread to match the vinyl
Pencil, pen, or masking tape if you choose to use clear vinyl for your tray
Masking tape to fasten sides temporarily before sewing.
