Pattern Description:

Having to go on a long train journey soon, I decided I'd need something to keep me busy - so this will house all my sewing tools as well as act as a small desk on my knee.

It's an ideal way to upcyle an old diary - something that would be unlikely to be reused for any other purpose.

All the fabrics you'll need are quite small - you could use an old shirt and a pair of jeans, like I did, for the main fabrics.

The finished travel kit takes up no more room than your A5 diary did, and holds all your sewing bits and pieces neatly in place for you.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

The size of your book determines the finished measurement - I recommend A5 size but you could use another size book

Materials:

old A5 hardback diary or book
enough fabric to cover diary plus 2" all round
enough fabric to cover diary again (for lining)
small amount of wadding/batting/fleece
felt scraps
buttons and beads
small length of ribbon
2" Velcro (optional)
hair bobble/scrunchie
embroidery thread
tiny amount of toy stuffing (fleece would do)
