Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cut and sew a simple garment.

Pattern Description:

"The Gargoyle," like those grotesque little monsters that are a part of the downspout and gutter systems of big cathedrals, is a little bit evil but completely practical.

This long leg panty girdle features optional spot control panels: "The Tummy Flattener," "The Tummy Lifter," "The Fanny Lifter," and "The Thigh Tamer." the control panels can be cut from matching fabric or from decorative contrast.

This is a long waisted girdle, meaning that the waist is at the natural, anatomical waist and it is designed to accommodate the curves of the plus size belly and fanny.

Plus size women should wear a girdle every day, just as they wear a bra. Bellies need support! Shape wear smooths and compresses soft tissues, stops jiggling, and allows clothing to fit better and look better.

Ready-to-wear girdles are either very expensive in the better quality national brand names, or they are cheaply made and fabricated in the less expensive no-name versions. They are very hard to find in larger plus sizes.

Currently, there is no girdle pattern in print for any size, much less plus through super sizes.

Girdles are super easy and fast to make. With this pattern, sewers can make a girdle in less than half an hour, with just basic sewing skills, for less than $20 in materials.

For personal use only; not for resale or redistribution.

Detailed, written instructions are included with the pattern. I regret that I cannot offer any individual guidance.
