Pattern Description:

You know those neat stretchy book covers you see with all the "back to school" supplies? And, they are between $3 and $5 a piece? Well, as a former dance mom who had a ton of dance and swimwear fabric from when my daughter was a dancer, I decided I could make those much cheaper.

This tutorial is super easy. And...it's super, super easy if you have a serger.

With 1 yd of two-way stretch fabric (depending on width) can net you between 3 and 6 book covers.

This two-way stretch fabric is the spandex/lycra you find in the swimwear fabric or dance fabric. If you use one of those ever popular 50% off a cut of fabric coupon at everyone's favorite fabric store, you can save quit a bit by making these book covers yourself.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • made to your book

Materials:

  • thread
  • sewing machine or serger
  • 1 yd of 2-way stretch fabric = between 3 and 6 book covers
