Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Stitch a straight line, clip and notch curves and points, turn and press, insert zippers, work with fusible interfacing

Pattern Description:

My oldest son wanted to be a shark for Halloween last year, so I set to work creating a shark costume. The results are the Shark Bait pattern you see here. With this pattern, you can make a fun, sturdy strap-on tail, plus add gums and teeth to a hoodie. The best part is the removable back fin that let's your little mako wear this hoodie everywhere, even after the costume party is over! My son still LOVES his hoodie and wears it to first grade every day.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Child - One Size

  • 1 yd gray fabric, two fat eighths (red and white) for teeth and gums, remnant heavy fusible interfacing
  • 2 yds lightweight fusible interfacing (optional)
  • Store-bought hoodie

You Will Also Need:

  • 7-in zipper, 3-4 inches heavy duty velcro
  • two large black buttons for eyes
