Pattern Description:

Now you can make professional cover stands for the Google Nexus 7.
This cozy also functions as a stand for your Nexus 7, so you can watch a movie, read, or play games on a table top, hands free.

Your Nexus 7 remains functional while in this clever case. The camera takes photos clearly. There is an opening in the bottom for the charger and head phones to plug in. There is a right side opening to operate the power button and the volume control.

The screen cover folds back, you re-attach 1/2" of the velcro closure inside out, and voila, you have a stand!

This cover is not meant to protect against dropping the tablet. It just makes it soft and pretty to hold and the stand is greatly useful.

Materials:

scissors
craft knife
12" long quilters ruler
fray check
one piece of cardstock
tape
small, 1/8" hole punch
You will need a block of wood to stand-in for your tablet when you are ironing the cov-er. The block should be solid hardwood, not particle board, not treated. You will be iron-ing on it, so you don't want any chemicals or oils. The thickness needs to be: 10mm, the length: 198.5mm, and the width: 120mm. Edges all sanded to slightly round. You Will Also Need:

Stabilizer: ??10.5" of Peltex 71F Ultra firm one-sided fusible, it comes 20 inches wide
??2" by 3" scrap of iron-on interfacing to put behind Velcro on exterior fabric and camera opening.
1/3 yard All one fabric, or if you want to use 4 different fabrics like I do, you can use fat quarters or scraps you already have. I use quilting cottons. You can use a home d-cor cotton for the outer cover. Do not use heavier fabrics for the inside of the case.
Velcro5/8" or 3/4" wide, you need 4" long
Picture Framing Mat Board: 5" by 7.5" piece. (At a frame shop, get a scrap that came out of a 8x10 opening.) Cut it in 2 pieces 7.5" long: 1.75" and 2.75" wide.
