These charming summer flowers are ideal to use all those left over scraps of fabric. I believe that textiles should be a wearable art form and with these little creations you'll be able to personlize your wardrobe and give it that summer time feel. I give a number of ideas on how to embellish the centres which creates a unique and different look. You could enlarge and reduce the size and add one layer of petals to another, the possibilities are endless.

My name is Phillippa and I am a practising textile artist here in England. After finishing my degree in embroidered textiles in 2006 in which I spent much of the time working with recycled materials and fusing them with tradition embroidery stitches. I then went on to create my first DVD entitled Free Machine Embroidery for the Complete Beginner. This shows you how to free machine embroider on a basic sewing machine. I work part-time for a large department store John Lewis, in the textile department in which I give craft and sewing machine demonstrations. Now that I have finished filming I have got quite a taste for it and hope to design some short You Tube (how too) films with the view of creating my own patterns. Life is one great learning curve.
