I recently began a love affair with the Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine. It is lightweight and portable which makes it ideal for taking to classes and it sews like a dream. Unlike newer machines, however, the featherweight does not have a handle for lifting it in and out of its case. Putting it back in the case when I'm done using it is the worst part for me because no matter how careful I am, I always manage to burn my fingers on the lightbulb. I saw patterns on the internet for a little bag but the machine would still need to be lifted into and out of the bag. Having the bag open up and become a sewing mat with a pincushion and pockets to hold my notions is the perfect solution!

I am the mother of two adult children and grandmother of the cutest little boy ever! I am a CPA with 25+ years of experience. I have recently been blessed (although it didn't feel like it at the time) to make a mid-life career change so now I am doing what I most enjoy in life: designing awesome accessories and original works of art. I have loved fabric and sewing for as long as I can remember. My goal is to learn something new every day, to enjoy the life that I have been given, and to make the world a little brighter, one stitch at a time.
