Fathoms is an intermediate-advanced level, 18" cloth doll that hangs from a wall and can be used a key holder. The extremely simple wire armature of the doll makes her strong enough to hang keys from her tail fins. The 22 pages of detailed instructions are provided in PDF format and are illustrated with colour photographs as well as diagrams. The instructions are accompanied by a supply list and the pattern pages, along with a full colour photograph for reference - all in one easy to download file. The pattern guides you through every aspect of making this cloth doll including drawing and sculpting the face, inserting the wire armature, using a heat gun to create a shaped felt hat and creating stunning accessories for this deep sea beauty using bead embroidery and beaded peyote. Just like a deep sea fish, deep sea mermaids are mysterious and a bit dark, but still beautiful with an elegant "second skin" made from stretch fabrics, ladylike gloves and applied fingernails. Let Fathoms lure you into exploring the depths of your creativity.
Please note that this doll is meant for decorative purposes only and is not suitable for children.
