I had a plastic version of this envelope folder that I used to keep recipes that I print off the internet in. It was about 7 years old and just burst at the seams. So, I looked at it and decided I would re-create it out of fabric. I enjoy creating functional projects more than anything else.


  • cotton fabric
  • Pellon Craft-Fuse or other medium weight fusible interfacing
  • rotary cutter + mat
  • iron +board
  • spray bottle with water
  • Bias tape maker (if you are making your own bias binding)

You Will Also Need:

  • 1/2"- 1" wide bias binding
  • embroidery floss or pearl cotton
  • two buttons
  • pins
  • thread
  • large hand sewing needle
  • optional: beads, buttons for additional embellishment
