These sneakers are soft and sweet! They keep their shape very well. Shoes will look great on a boy or a girl!
They are easy to make! Wool or acrylic felt is fused to fabric using a double sided fusible web. Cotton home decorator fabric is used for the outside of the sample shoes. It has an interesting texture that looks like canvas but almost any type of fabric will work well. Shoes have ribbon ties. Bias tape is sewn around the inside edge of the shoe tops and across the top of the shoe tongues. The tongues are made separately and then sewn into the shoes. They open out just like a regular pair of sneakers so you can easily slide baby's feet inside the shoes, then tuck in the tongues and tie the ribbons for a secure fit.
This eleven page PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns, a materials list, instructions written in English, and step-by-step photographs. Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on shoes for babies that are walking.
