I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my grandmothers, great grandmother, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy.Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
Mrs. Santa deserves a pretty apron for the holidays. Use quilter's cotton in a printed stripe pattern for her best bib and tucker apron, or choose a solid or tone-on-tone red print if you prefer. Knit fleece fabric trims the neckline and the upper edge of the ruffle. Pretty buttons and a real buckle add just the right finishing touches. If you prefer, you can substitute a fused-in-place fabric buckle (pattern provided). Directions are included for cutting the apron in two pieces--bib and skirt as shown in the photo or in one piece for fabrics other than stripes. If you want a more tailored apron, eliminate the ruffle with fleece trim.
