THE BOB POCKET is a pillow with a pocket to hold your phone, with an opening at the bottom to charge or for headphones. The travel size is perfect for listening to music in the car or on the plane without worrying about dropping your phone or finding a place to put it. The full size is great if you sleep with your phone (which like, 80% of us do...) and you always end up scrambling in the morning to find it. Or combine the ideas and make a brightly colored travel size for your bed, and you'll be able to find it even before you find your glasses!
Besides avoiding the morning phone scramble and listening to music on the plane, here is why you need this pattern:
-It's a quick and unique gift that is not a zippered pouch.
-There isn't much to cut out, it's assembled flat, and there is no lining to turn!
-It's good for teens, girls, guys, college students, even Grandma.
-It's a brand-new-beginner-level pattern. While my bag patterns are crazy detailed, you still don't want to mess up 2 yards of fabric and 4 yards of interfacing on the first project you make after you learn how to thread your machine. This, however, is totally doable. Plus you can practice french seams, turning and topstitching a pocket, and edgestitching.
-Both the travel and full size pillowcases have a snug envelope closure that overlaps half of the pillowcase, not the skimpy 2-3″ like many pillow shams. If you are like me and don't want saggy looking pillowcases that come off halfway during the night, you might want these even without pockets.
