A little bird sings his song and soars toward the sunshine in this extra cheerful mini rag quilt. This small quilt is a whole cloth quilt, which means that you cut the front, back and batting all the same size as the finished quilt. The appliques are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, folk look to the quilt.
The pattern includes full size pattern pieces, clear step by step numbered instructions, and photos.
This is a great opportunity to practice free motion stitching, rag quilting and applique techniques in a small composition.
A fat quarter quilt!
I love designing and making quilts, especially folk and story quilts. All my patterns are easy to follow with step by step directions and photos. Every pattern begins with a quilt created and sewn on my table top machine.
I have a blog where I share the design process behind the patterns, MarylandQuilter.com. Come by and visit!
