Basic Skills Necessary:

  • use a sewing machine, basic hand sewing including blanket stitch

Pattern Description:

This is a lovely project for any keen sewist and would make a great gift. It's easy to make - the structure of the pillow is simple as it just has an ovelap at the back for getting the pad in and out.

I made mine almost entirely from recycled fabrics and yours could be just as eco-friendly!

I used blanket stitch a lot in this for sewing the edges of the pieces in place, but you could use machine stitching or even running stitch if you prefer.

I recently got a sewing room (my daughter moved out!) and have a sofabed in there as it's a guest room too. This is the first thing I've made for the room and it's the room that inspired this make - I'm making some more soon!

This pattern can be used to make items for sale if you're a small independent business - not for mass production.
