The first guide (shown made in the red dotty fabric) illustrates how to make a basic envelope style cushion cover. It shows you how to cut out the fabric, hem the overlap, layer the pieces and neaten the seams. This is suitable for a beginner who has experience of using a sewing machine. You can create lots of simple cushions to coordinate with your soft furnishings. The PDF is ullustrated using a pale duckegg fabric so that it is easy to see the pattern pieces and stitching lines.
The second one shows you how to make a beautiful cushion cover out of two contrasting fabrics. The front cover has an end opening with contrast lining and two ties which can be knotted or tied in a bow. This pattern is shown in basic steps and again is suitable for a beginner. Choose pastel coordinating fabrics or bright contrasting ones, pattern & plains or check & floral - the options are endless, a great way to use up you fabric collection.
The third is my favourite, how to make a simple Union Jack style cushion cover. It looks complicated but each step is shown in close up detail with simple text so anyone with some sewing experience will be able to make one. It looks stunning made from plain coloured fabrics too. All you need is a base patterned or plain fabric plus some white cotton and another pattern or plain fabric for the bars that make up the design. The back of this cushion is an envelope closure with a generous overlap.
All three PDF sewing guides have been combined into one 27 page guide. The guides are aimed at beginners to sewing and include very simple language and lots of close up photographs to illustrate each step clearly.
