Huggable Blockheads

from Shiny Happy World
(9) Name: 'Sewing : Huggable Blockheads
Huggable Blockheads
Huggable Blockheads
Huggable Blockheads
Huggable Blockheads

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • simple sewing

Pattern Description:

A couple of years after I made the first beanbag Blockheads, my daughter came to me with a problem. She really liked the faces - and the personalities - of her Blockheads, but she wanted some that were big enough to snuggle with. She wanted them to be made of extra-soft fabric and have no buttons or other hard bits. Simply put - she wanted a Blockhead she could sleep with.

We tested many (many!) sizes and shapes until we arrived at one that she declared "perfect for snuggling." And so the Huggable Blockheads were born. Enjoy making your own!

You'll receive a full-sized pattern for three faces, general instructions for any Huggable Blockhead, and specific instructions for three hair variations.

These are REALLY easy to make - they require only the most basic sewing skills and the pattern has links to videos teaching you those skills. It's a great project for beginners!

It'll probably take 1-2 hours to make each Huggable Blockhead. Make one in an afternoon and have him finished before bedtime. :-)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • each Blockhead is about a foot tall

  • less than 1/3 yard fabric - I recommend polar fleece

You Will Also Need:

  • stuffing
