  • Hand towels: 3/4 yards cotton Home Dec or home spun fabrics, or a purchased towel. 1/8 yard Lite heatnbond 1/4 yard applique cotton fabric for nut 1/8 yard applique cotton fabric for caps 1/2 yard trim, lace or rickrack.
  • Four Coasters 1/4 Yard cotton fabric for nut 1/4 yard cotton fabric for caps and backing. 1/4 yard cotton batting or pellon fleece. 6" square of freezer paper *stitching guide* Thread to match fabrics

*Freezer Paper
Quilters use freezer paper to achieve perfect shapes. Freezer paper has waxy and paper sides. Draw the shape on the paper side, cut it out. Iron the wax side to layered fabrics and stitch along the edge. Remove the Freezer paper, it's reusable and you have stitched a perfect shape.
No Freezer paper? Draw a stitching line ,around the pattern with a chalk or fabric marker.

  • No Freezer paper? Use a fabric marking pen or chalk.
