This pillow is a wonderful example for a Think Green! project re-using discarded clothing. (Denim) Shirts are great for making very cool pillow covers since the button-facing does very nicely as closure and makes the inserting of a zipper unnecessary.
The other side of the pillow - the side which is cut from the back of the shirt - is embellished with machine-appliqu(c)d flowers. Continuing with the green theme, the flowers were cut from vintage blue and white bed linen from old Bavarian farmhouses.

Johann is Austrian and started quilting in 2010. In his spare time, he loves doing dangerous things: mountain climbing, skiing, hiking through the wilderness and motorcycling.
Jutta is Bavarian and started quilting in 1996. When she isn’t quilting, she enjoys reading, going to the movies, swimming, travelling, or trying to keep up with Johann on almost vertical hiking trails or ski slopes in the Alps.
