Pattern Description:

My Aunt Ellie showed me how to make this fantastic casserole pretty and innovative! In response to requests for the pattern, I've created my own tutorial-style instructions, complete with TONS of photos to show a confident beginner sewist exactly what to do.

All heads will turn when you show up at a picnic, party, or potluck with your delicious casserole, sidedish, or dessert tucked away in a charming casserole carrier! Use fabric that shows a hint of what's inside...cherries, cupcakes, or Italian themes...or show your spirit with fabric from a favorite sports team. Possibilities are endless!

The finished carriers make fantastic gifts for friends, new grads, brides, and moms!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • about 21 1/2" square when lying flat

  • 2/3 yard exterior fabric
  • 2/3 yard lining fabric
  • OPTIONAL 1/4 yard contrast fabric
  • 1 yard Pellon 987F fusible fleece

You Will Also Need:

  • Iron and ironing board
  • rotary cutter and mat - helpful
  • thread to match fabrics

My name is Amy DeCesare, and I'm a wife and mom with a "real" job working in a hospital lab as a medical technologist. This is my "fantasy" job...creating patterns, purses, accessories, gifts, and whatever can be cut and sewn from my fabric stash. If it holds still for more than 20 minutes, I'll make a cover for it! (At least that's what my husband claims!)
