The Lorelei was designed with several things in mind. First, I wanted a very basic dress that would be a great starting point for beginner sewists, especially those interested in trying out stretch knits for the first time. I also wanted a dress that would allow the use of all those beautiful fabrics out there, but at less than a yard needed, wouldn't break the budget. Lastly, I wanted to continue to create new ways to recycle those t-shirts...a nice little mix of something old and something new combined to create something lovely. Of course, stretch knit off the bolt will do the trick as well. This versatile design comes with the option of a dress or a top as well as long sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves for year-around appeal!
As with all LilyGiggle patterns, no serger is needed! Directions are given for sewing on a regular sewing machine.

I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. As a teen I began teaching myself to sew and started making some of my own clothes. Later went on to major in Fashion Design and to basically unlearn all that I taught myself. :) However, all my earlier experimentation gave me a freedom in my sewing to do things a little "out of the box" and not be afraid to have fun with sewing even if it occasionally breaks some rules.
As a mama to 4, I am most inspired by my children. You can find my line of children's clothing patterns at www.lilygiggle.com, Etsy and in various online retailers. I'm always working on new ideas swirling around in my brain and hope to have many more projects posted soon!
