Pattern Description:

The First Pattern in this collection is for classic, princess-seam high waist knickers, the perfect addition to any sewists wardrobe. This pattern is designed for Stretch Knits, but when used in combination can accommodate Stretch-Wovens, or loose-weaves cut on the bias. This pattern has been hand drafted then digitized.

This is an intermediate pattern and requires familiarity with sewing and finishing knit fabrics, sewing lingerie elastic, and easing curved seams together.

Four sizes are included in this PDF, print-at-home pattern
X-Small - 33"-35" Hip
Small - 36"-37" Hip
Medium - 38"-39" Hip
Large - 40"-41" Hip
***Always sew a test garment using fabrics of similar weights, stretch and resiliency to test the fit, these measurements are guidelines only. Measurements based on 4-way stretch knit fabrics.***

Required Fabric
Side Panels - 1/2 yard Knit Fabric
Front and Pack Panels - 1/2 yard contrast stretch fabric

Suggested Fabrics
Jersey Knit, Tricot, 4 way stretch fabrics, stretch lace, stretch velvet, spandex & lycra blends. Cotton Knit for crotch lining (scrap, or 1/4 yard)

Required Notions
2 yards lingerie elastic (picot edged, or fold over)

I've been looking for "Mad Men" underwear for eons. (Why must every cute bra come with a thong?) I made this pair to coordinate with a longline bra from Frederick's. They look great together, although the panties now highlight how shoddy the Fredericks's workmanship and materials are.

My only suggestions would be the addition of a few reference triangles to make matching the side pieces easier. I was working with a slippery stretchy annoying side fabric; I would have loved to have ...
