Here's a super-quick and super-cute refashion from an old tee. It has a comfy and flowy body, with a sweet shape on top - a hybrid halter-top shelf-dress of sorts.
I have a 14-year old boy who is growing like a weed right now, so a ton of his t-shirts no longer fit. I also have a little girl that I love to sew for. I started cutting up a few of his tees, playing around to see if I could come up with a dress for my girl. This is what I came up with.
The t-shirt I used was a well-worn adult size small. It fits my size 5 girl just fine.
The bottom hem and a little portion under the arm are unfinished - which is just fine for cotton knit. It slightly curls up, soft and comfy with no worries of fraying.
It could be worn as a summer dress with some short leggings, or a swimsuit cover-up. Or shorten the length for a halter top.
The last page of the PDF includes some tweaks to make a version for an 18-inch doll. Don't miss it!
