"Sew Frilly" circle flounce skirt looks so airy and sweet with the cotton cluny lace floating along the hems of the flounces. Sizes 12 months to 6 child all in one pattern.
This unusual skirt pattern starts with just a basic gathered straight skirt with a comfortable elastic waist. Then I have layered 3 lace trimmed circle flounces to the bottom of the skirt. There is not a single gather in the flounces but they look like ruffles. This technique works well with a solid print. The flounce blends in with the skirt and it is hardly noticeable where the under skirt ends and the flounce begins.
I have added an optional pretty bow that ties in the middle and stays put with two belt loops hidden behind the bow.
The look of this skirt can be changed numerous ways to make it look different. Add floating rick rack or a bias binding to the hem of the flounces . Change the colors of the flounces to coordinating prints.
I hope you enjoy making this skirt as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
