intermediate skill level requirement Advanced

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • working with knits
  • applying lingerie elastic

Pattern Description:

The Jasmine Bra can be sewn as a light, unlined bralette, or lined in jersey for a little more body. It features princess seams that can easily be adjusted to accommodate a number of cup sizes. This bralette would make a great bikini top, or a lingerie piece. This pattern is designed to be sewn with stretch knits only. It is important to sew a test garment, and test your fit as you go along. Because of differing amounts of stretch in each fabric, you may need to size up or down!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Extra Small 33-34" Bust
  • Small 35-36" Bust
  • Medium 37-38" Bust
  • Large 39-40" Bust
  • B-D Cup. Cup size can be adjusted by altering the curve of the princess seams.

  • 1/2 yard knit fabric
  • 1/2 yard cotton jersey for lining (optional)
  • 1.2 yard Plush Band Elastic
  • 1.2 yard lingerie elastic
  • 1.5 yards strap elastic
  • 2 strap sliders
  • 2 strap rings
  • 1 bra back closure 1 1/2" wide
  • Thread
  • Ribbon, rosettes, bows for embellishment

Excellent Jasmine Bra  August 25, 2013

This is a quick and easy pattern that would be great for anyone wanting to start sewing lingerie! Since it's made from stretchy knit fabric, the fit is forgiving and very adjustable depending on the length of elastic you cut. There are only 3 pattern pieces and it took me just a few hours to make!

Excellent Great Pattern!  July 29, 2013

I cut an extra small (34") and it fits perfectly. I made the Jasmine bra out of jersey and elastic. I eliminated the hooks and straps and other finishings that most bras have as I did not have much confidence in my sewing ability - but it came out perfectly. I slip it over my head and the straps stay put, as does everything else. I love it!

Many of these pieces are easy to sew, but do require a good knowledge of working with knits, applying elastic, and easing in curved seams .
