This pattern was designed with creating a whole recycled t-shirt outfit in mind. I wanted to create a top that would be a perfect compliment to LilyGiggle's popular Rings-of-Ruffles skirt. I also wanted to create something simple to make with lots of versatility. Here it is...the "Oh Deer!" slim-fit top. Also included is a swing tunic...with the same neckline and sleeves as the top but with a roomier and longer A-line shape that looks great with leggings, Rings-of-Ruffles pants or knit bloomers or even some great skinny jeans. Instructions are given on how to make them from recycled t-shirts. This top whips up lickety-split...LOVE it!
As a special bonus I included the pattern and instructions for making the cute little deer applique but don't let that stop your design imagination! As you can see from the photos there are many ways to embellish this top and tunic...mix up the fabrics, add a flower or two, some pockets or some extra ruffles...have some fun with it! :)
Options for short or long sleeves.
Please note, though, that the only embellishment instruction that is included is for the deer.

I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. As a teen I began teaching myself to sew and started making some of my own clothes. Later went on to major in Fashion Design and to basically unlearn all that I taught myself. :) However, all my earlier experimentation gave me a freedom in my sewing to do things a little "out of the box" and not be afraid to have fun with sewing even if it occasionally breaks some rules.
As a mama to 4, I am most inspired by my children. You can find my line of children's clothing patterns at www.lilygiggle.com, Etsy and in various online retailers. I'm always working on new ideas swirling around in my brain and hope to have many more projects posted soon!
