Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should already know the basics of machine sewing for this dress. Gathering stitches, clipping/trimming/pressing seams, and turning out a self-lined bodice.
  • Since there is a considerable amount of curved stitching in the bodice, I would say not for an absolute beginner's first project. But definitely on the easy side once you have mastered curves and pivoting on the machine.
  • This PDF pattern is broken into 4 rows of 5 columns (A-E). There are notches on each cell to help in piecing it together. Please email me with any questions. This was my first attempt at creating a PDF pattern for sale, so input from buyers is welcome.

Pattern Description:

I designed this dress for my sweet niece, Lily. I wanted it to be playful and pretty enough for any little girl to love and be loved in. It is a simple pullover sundress with an empire waist design. The bodice dips from high in center front and to low in the center back for extra cuteness. Knotted shoulder details add more fun to the look, while also allowing for ease in pulling it over your sweet-pea's head. The skirt has plenty of swing with a fully gather waist.

This is a wonderful summer dress in cotton or seersucker, but can easily convert to a corduroy jumper for cool months.
