Pattern Description:

This pattern comes in size 1/2- 14 years. This is such a fun pattern! Soft knit waistband is comfortable and practical. Includes both shorties and pant length. Use a ribbing, cotton lycra or lycra spandex, something with 75% stretch for the waistband. The legs, waist ruffle and bottom ruffle can be made in either knit or a woven. Or try using a sweet lace for the waist ruffle. Waist ruffle meant to look like an undershirt. No side seams make for a quick sew and great for prints. The perfect pants that aren't too wide or narrow. This pdf pattern is a beautiful, computer drafted, LAYERED, color coded pattern, no trim pieces that overlap and make it quick to put together. Measurements given for waistband, waist ruffle and bottom ruffle. Detailed, precise instructions with full color photos to teach and guide you along the way are perfect for beginners. Yardage requirements, tips, tricks and more are included! You will need Adobe Reader on your computer to open the PDF files.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 1/2-14

Materials:

  • *Fabric: You can use any wovens or knits for the pants, waist ruffle and bottom ruffle: 100% cotton, chambray, cotton jersey, or cotton interlock. The waistband you need something with really great recovery; meaning it has a lot of stretch, but it bounces back to shape quickly after pulling. Ribbing (NOT ribbed knit), a cotton lycra or lycra spandex, 75% stretch. If your fabric doesn't have good recovery, your waistband will end up 'growing' throughout the day and not stay put.
  • *Ball point, stretch, or jersey needle if using knit *I love using my serger and cover stitch for all knit construction. If you don't have a serger, suitable stitches are: zig zag or overlock (remember no back stitching when using an overlock!) When using a straight stitch, increase length to allow for stretch. * Knits do not need to be finished even you if you are using a standard sewing machine, they do not fray! Yay, quick sew! *Remember the stretch of the fabric always goes around the body. *Basics: thread, scissors, ruler, rotary cutter, hem gauge.
