The Sugarplum skirt pattern is ready to rock around the Christmas tree, sparkle at special occasions, and every day wear too. You get two skirt patterns in one. Overskirt has a flat front and elastic (no shirring) back. Elastic-waist underskirt adds poof and rustle to her walk and only peeks out as she moves. Designed so that no itchy tulle ever touches the skin.
Title of this pattern: The Sugarplum Skirt
TWELVE sizes included: 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5, 6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14 - body waist sizes from 16.5" to 27".
Recommended sewing experience: Advanced Beginner.
You can make Sugarplum with cotton fabrics for every day (and skip the underskirt), or use satin, silk, taffeta, garment-weight brocade, or linen for the overskirt. Tips for using, hemming, and making seams with special occasion fabrics are included. So many different looks - make an underskirt or two and a pile of interchangeable skirts in different fabrics for an entire wardrobe.
This pattern is a bundle book in itself with TWELVE sizes from 6 months to teen 13/14 and patterns and instructions for both the underskirt and the overskirt, plus a big section on tips for sewing, hemming and seaming special occasion fabrics. She'll want to wear the pretty underskirt on its own too.
See the images for the fabric requirements for this pattern.
Printable pattern pieces included for shaped pieces; larger rectangular pieces are provided as cutting measurements to save your ink, paper and tape!

I'm Jen Hagedorn, the designer behind Tie Dye Diva sewing patterns. My line of downloadable sewing patterns focuses on easy-to-sew and easy-to wear classic clothing designs for baby and child, with just a touch of whimsy like animal ears on fleece hats and ruffled bottoms on baby wear. I aim to make sewing a gratifying and educational process that gives you a result you're proud of.
Tie Dye Diva patterns was launched in 2007. The line currently features more than 70 unique sewing patterns for baby, children, adults and home. Besides the PDF format patterns you find on this site and at retail sites around the web, you can find Tie Dye Diva patterns in publications including:
Stash Books' Hat Shop: 25 Projects to Sew, from Practical to Fascinating (Design Collective), compiled by Suzanne Woods,

Annie's Sewing Sew Special Baby Gifts.
I am also a workshop instructor here on Craftsy.com. My Twirl Skirt with Bloomers pattern workshop is a great way for beginning sewers to sew a beautiful garment with help available at every step of the way.
I live in Northern California with a supportive and patient husband who never complains about having serger tails sticking to his shirt, and 3 beautiful children who are great fit models, accomplished fabric-stash refolders and enthusiastic critics of my work.
