Pattern Description:

Fabulously Easy Summer Skirt

This skirt is a total breeze. The pockets with the Minnie Mouse motif are a little time consuming but you can make this skirt in endless combinations without adding rick rack or motifs. Just have a look at the lovely skirts my students have made in my sewing class.

Once you have made one you will be running them up all the time. Best of all it only takes 1/2m of fabric and 30 cm for the trim. In fact you may have some remnants knocking about which are perfect for this little number!

Not having a hem makes it so much faster and the trim really is a nice touch. The pocket is the same as I the one I included with the Megan dress, so you may already know a few techniques.

The waistband includes a flat front which makes this skirt look so much prettier then simply elasticating all the way around. Plus of cause you can use a contrast colour or fabric. From sailor look to this Minnie Mouse design, its a skirt for all occasions.

Whether you are an expert or just starting out the video tutorial will make it very clear what you have to do. If you are unsure if you can handle this pattern then simply watch the video to reassure yourself before you purchase the pattern. And for all those of you that love to keep all instruction neatly in a folder,my instructions booklet contains page after page with photo's just to make doubly sure you know what to do.

Your pattern comes with all the sizes - 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 & 5 -6.

None of my patterns are multi sized so there is one size per file, this saves a lot of paper and confusion as to which line you have to cut.

Every pattern is hand drafted and then imported into a CAD program to make sure you have a pattern that fits and looks good too! No pattern is automatically graded or computer generated with software. Having trained as a tailor 30 years ago I know that pattern generating software can never replace the skill of a pattern drafted by hand. Try my patterns and you will love the fit. At least I hope you will :)

  • Age 1-2: Waist 56.0 cm / 22.0"
  • Age 2-3: Waist 57.2 cm / 22.7"
  • Age 3-4: Waist 58.4 cm / 23.0"
  • Age 4-5: Waist 61.0 cm / 24.0"
  • Age 5-6: Waist 63.0 cm / 24.8"


  • 1/2 yard of cotton for the skirt
  • 1/3 yard for the trim and waistband

  • Matching thread
  • 23" of 1.5" /3.9 cm elastic
  • 2 yards of rick-rack
  • Small amount of interfacing for the pocket appliqu
