Pattern Description:

The Ballet Dress was inspired by pretty and comfortable, knit practice dresses for ballerinas. With the three quarter length sleeves, elegant scoop neck and twirl-worthy semi circle this pattern makes the perfect everyday dress. Relax in comfort at home or dress it up with some tights and a scarf for a day out.

The Ballet Dress dress is designed for beginners and is a great introduction to sewing with knits! You'll learn how to add a collar, support your shoulder seams, add elastic to the waist, and use knit techniques like zig zag stitching and using a twin needle.

You don't need a serger to sew this pattern but if you have one, great!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

5 sizes ranging from finished bust size 34-42in
Because knits stretch to fit your body, you should choose a finished size close to your body measurements

Materials:

2 1/4 yd of 2-way stretch knit fabric (jersey, interlock, sweater knit, etc)

You Will Also Need:

Matching Thread
One package 3/4in wide clear elastic
Stay tape to give support to shoulder seams (optional)
Twin needle for hems (optional)
