If you are afraid of zippers, then this is the pattern for you! The technique is a bit unconventional and, in my opinion, looks better than traditional zippered cosmetic bags. And trust me, it gets easier with very little practice.
I do not pin the zipper when I sew it in! I just use slight pressure with my fingers to hold it in place as I sew.
Be sure to go to my pattern shop and download my FREE tutorials: How To Make a Zipper Template and How to Insert an Exposed Zipper. You'll need these to make this cosmetic bag.
BTW, my favorite zipper store is Zipperstop! You can find them on eBay.

I began sewing as a child - my mother did tailoring and alterations. In 2004, I began designing, making, and selling purses at arts festivals - I named my business Ms. Elaineous. In 2009, I opened Sew You Can where I taught sewing lessons. I closed my studio in 2012 to focus on designing patterns. You can follow me at http://mselaineousteachessewing.blogspot.com.
