Pattern Description:

This is a charming pattern for ballet slippers based on a vintage pattern. They may be made in four sizes and quilted either by hand or machine. A material already quilted is also suitable. They may be made of velveteen, satin, corduroy, flannel, upholstery fabrics or a cotton material such as percale or chintz and trimmed with ribbon or bias binding.

The pattern has been adapted and improved for the modern seamstress, creating an original work.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

The pattern comes in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. From toe to heel finished, they measure: Small: 9 inches Medium: 9.75 inches Large: 10.5 inches Extra Large: 11.5 inches

Materials:

SLIPPERS: 1/2 yard of 36 inch or 3/8 yard 54 inch material. INTERLINING MATERIAL: 1/2 yard of 35 inch heavy outing flannel. LINING MATERIAL: 1/2 yard of 36 inch or 3/8 yard 54 inch material.

You Will Also Need:

RIBBON OR BINDING FOR BINDING, BOW AND TIES: 6 yards of 1/2 inch ribbon or 6 yards No. 5 bias binding. Scraps of chamois or an old leather bag large enough for sole pieces; this is used in reenforcing bottom of soles. (Suede, micro suede, or other heavy fabrics could also be substituted) Thread to match ribbon or slipper material.
