I love to make things that I like to use, so I have a wide variety of patterns as a result of that. I have sewn for more years than I care to admit to...let's just say, for decades. I enjoy making patterns and sharing them with others. I try very hard to make them as easy to understand as I can. It is my hope that this is a way of helping others make things they like to use too.View all patterns by designer (78) »
Here is another way to use that beautiful stash of fabric: make your own gift bags! Everyone loves getting these because they know they can use them to give gifts in also. These are super easy to make and can be geared toward any type person, event, gift, etc.
This is a great time to choose eco-friendly gift wrap by making your own reusable fabric bags. You can make most of these out of fabric remnants with the Extra Large bag using a full yard of material. This is a good way to recylce clothing, sheets, curtains, retro fabric. You may also find yourself making bags to organize all kinds of things! Choose fabric to fit the use: canvas for books, organza for elegant gifts like jewelry, satin or silk for a fine wine bottle bag, cotton for children's party favor bags, etc. These bags are simple enough that you can make them quickly and inexpensively. You can even make some without a sewing machine, just a hand sewing needle, thread, fabric, scissors!
