I made two pairs of the comfy booties. I have a front-loading washing machine and was able to shrink the booties to a size where i could wear them, so it is possible to use a front loader. There are lots of tips online. I was able to set mine so it would drain and not spin. Thanks for the fun project.

Do I fel.t the wool sweater first.....if not how will the wool sweater not come apart when I cut it......does not seem possible to do wit.hour felting first and the pattern does not read that way!

No, you don't felt the sweater first. The whole premise is that you use an UN-felted sweater, cut it, sew it, THEN felt it for a perfect fit to your size.

What size or measurements should the pattern be? Thanks. I am offering this project to my sewing students and I know they will LOVE it.

There really isn't one size, the size boot you end up with will all depend on how long you felt it. This pattern will make a range of Womens size Med - Lg.
Have fun!
