Double-faced, quilted fabric is the backdrop for contrasting divided pockets and the bottom panel on the outside of this pretty tote. Use it for round-the-town shopping or as a roomy carry-on for your travel essentials. Inside, you'll find a zipped security pocket. For lots more fabric options, check out home dec fabrics to make your own quilted yardage; directions are included.

I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent books are The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book, both published by Storey Publishing. I learned to sew from my grandmothers, great grandmother, and my Mom when I was just 7 or 8 years old. I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as the Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy. I loved taking a recent mixed media class online and had fun letting my "little girl" play with art materials. Of course, I'm using fabric in my "art." Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to.
