I began sewing as a child - my mother did tailoring and alterations. In 2004, I began designing, making, and selling purses at arts festivals - I named my business Ms. Elaineous. In 2009, I opened Sew You Can where I taught sewing lessons. I closed my studio in 2012 to focus on designing patterns. You can follow me at http://mselaineousteachessewing.blogspot.com.
And my real name isn't Elaine - she's my alter-ego!
PATTERN STORE POLICY: E-Patterns are NOT REFUNDABLE.
Looking for a fun project that can be completed in an evening? This purse insert can double as a toiletries bag or travel bag that stows away all your essentials! It's sturdy and stands on its own.
It has two zippered pockets, two outside pockets, and two mesh pockets that are sewn together to make a large center pocket. Feel free to add more pockets...it's easy to do!
Directions include cutting/layout guide and seven pages of instructions that include photographs. I also provide tips and suggestions to make this project something a confident beginner can tackle.
There are cutting directions for making your own double fold binding or you can use a package of store-bought binding. If you've never made or attached binding, I've included a FREE tutorial (ZIP file) on how to make binding and how to insert binding. It's not difficult to do and it adds a nice touch!
The snaps are optional, but the keep the contents of the middle section secure. I love my SnapSetter Tool - works much better than pliers!
