Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sew a curve
  • Sew a zipper
  • sew thick layers
  • Use a rotary cutter and ruler

Pattern Description:

The Boyd St. Bowling Bag features two attractive pleats on the front and back, and a smooth, rounded bowling bag shape. It is very spacious, and perfect for any season when made up with your favourite fabrics. With it's shorter handles, this bag carries like a handbag, or swings nicely on the crook of your arm.

Included are instructions for a double slip pocket, an internal zipper pocket, and a removable/adjustable shoulder strap made in fabric. Handbag handle instructions are for fabric, vinyl, or leather.

This pattern suits an experienced intermediate to an advanced sewer. NOTE: Sewists attempting to use vinyl or leather must already have vinyl/leather purchasing and sewing experience. You should know what fabrics work well in multiple layers on your own sewing machine and how to adjust your tension. The vinyl & leather instructions are for an advanced sewist. Attaching vinyl or leather handbag straps require using studs or rivets.

Finished Size of bag is approximately: Length: 16" (41 cm) across bottom, Height: 10" (25 cm) at middle center, Width: 5" (13 cm) wide at bottom. The pattern includes full colour photos and full size pattern pieces that include seam allowances. Pattern instructions are provided in both imperial and metric measurements.
