Pattern Description:

The Dottie Vintage Bag is a retro-inspired handbag (or shoulder bag depending on the handle length you choose) that is great the way it is, or easily modifiable for the advanced sewer. This pattern is a great way to practice making your own piping. The lining includes a small zippered pocket, and a large main compartment. There are tips included to make this into an insulated lunch bag or vanity bag for your cosmetics. So many possibilities with Dottie!

Excellent A pattern designer after my own heart!!  August 16, 2013

I just love all of Paco Beans patterns! I made the Dottie bag and I couldn't be happier! The instructions were clear and very easy to understand! I love the end result and get a ton of compliments on my new bag!!

Excellent Dottie  August 16, 2013

This bag was so easy to make. I had worked with piping before, but it was ready made. Paco Bean bags made it really easy to make your own piping, which you can match to your project. The pattern pieces are well laid out and the bag comes together easily. The instructions are especially great for inserting the zipper, and she has a great way of making it almost a breeze.

I'm a graphic designer by trade and fell in love with sewing many years ago. I think it was a natural path for me to mesh the two and start drafting my own patterns. There's nothing I like sewing together more than bags! www.swoonpatterns.com
