Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 13.5" wide x 8.5" tall


  • 1/3 yard fabric A for the Exterior
  • 1/2 yard fabric B for Band, Straps, and Pocket
  • 1/3 yard fabric for the Lining
  • 1 1/3 yard 20" wide light to medium weight fusible interfacing
  • 3/4 yard 44" wide heavy weight fusible interfacing
  • coordinating thread
  • a magnetic snap or button, if desired

Good Fun and Easy but Needs Editing  December 18, 2012

The bags I made following this pattern turned out very well and the pattern was very easy to follow. The only issue I had was that in order to make my bag look similar to the picture provided (with three fabrics showing on the exterior and a ruffle) I needed to cut out 4 pieces of both fabric B and in the lining fabric using the template for the "top band". I used the heavy weight backing on the pieces i cut from the lining fabric in order to create the top band, and sewed together the pieces ...
