Sizing / Finished Measurements:

13.5" wide x 8.5" tall

Materials:

1/3 yard fabric A for the Exterior
1/2 yard fabric B for Band, Straps, and Pocket
1/3 yard fabric for the Lining
1 1/3 yard 20" wide light to medium weight fusible interfacing
3/4 yard 44" wide heavy weight fusible interfacing
coordinating thread
a magnetic snap or button, if desired

Fun and Easy but Needs Editing December 18, 2012

The bags I made following this pattern turned out very well and the pattern was very easy to follow. The only issue I had was that in order to make my bag look similar to the picture provided (with three fabrics showing on the exterior and a ruffle) I needed to cut out 4 pieces of both fabric B and in the lining fabric using the template for the "top band". I used the heavy weight backing on the pieces i cut from the lining fabric in order to create the top band, and sewed together the pieces ...
