Sizing / Finished Measurements:

7 in L x 5" W x 4" H

Materials:

Exterior Fabric: 1 Fat Quarter (18 x 22inches) of Quilting Cotton
Lining: 1 Fat Quarter Quilting Cotton
1/2yd lightweight fusible interfacing

You Will Also Need:

14in Zipper
3/4 in Metal Lobster Clasp (or other clasp with a base of 3/4in)

This pattern was fairly easy to follow. I found a few changes that I had to make while in the process of sewing, but overall the sizes were spot on.

I had been dying to make a boxie zippered pouch for quite some time, and I thought this looked like the best tutorial. It was totally straightforward, and the bag came out way bigger than I thought.

2 things I made note of though:

The measurements indicated by the tabs is too small, and since they get folded so many times they probably don't need any interfacing.

This past weekend I made 3 No Guts Boxie Pouches. Am pairing them with zippered wipes cases.
The NGBP is fairly easy to make. I learned it is necssary to be very precise when measuring & trimming the 8 corners that are created. If they are not precise the pouch does not line up prefectly.

I loved this bag - made for my daughter as her handmade Christmas gift (she gets a handmade gift every year).

I don't know what she will use it for - pencils, camera case - we shall see, but I know she will love it (especially the owls).

Easy pattern to follow, taking it nice and slow. Sewing the 8 corners to make the box shape was a bit of a challenge - trying to keep the lining fabric square, but got there.

This is the second project that I've actually FINISHED. I had to re-read the instructions a couple of times to understand what to do. Thay might have just been my lack of knowleged and experience though. Once I got in to it was easy, i did mess up on the zipper 4 times in row! But it's compeleted now and I'm very happy with it.

I loved this pattern. I made two at the same time (one to keep and one to gift). Directions were very clear and I was a bit unsure as I was going along but saw it all come together towards the end. Going over all the layers at the zipper was tough but I know it is secure. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for sharing!!

This is a really great tutorial for beginners or someone who needs to work on specific areas. I, for example, needed to work on zippers. Im really terrible with zippers. The instructions we're easy to follow and included step by step photos. The only problem I had was with the tabs. It could totally be by fault, but the cuze size for the tabs seemed way too small and I just could not get them to work for me. So I scrapped them. Good instructions but the fabric does get a little bulky in the end stages. The bag is really forgiving of mistakes so it's a good project to learn on or sharpen your skills.
