  • How to craft French seams (helpful)

Pattern Description:

Jeannie's Banjo-Style Shoulder Bag is the perfect pattern if you've ever wanted to create a distinctive, unique purse. I designed this pattern for my wonderful mother-in-law, and I hope you enjoy it too!

This downloadable pattern includes detailed step-by-step instructions, cutting diagrams and dozens of photos to guide you through the process. Of course, printable pattern pieces are also included! You'll receive a printer-friendly version with text and diagrams and a complete version with loads of photos.

French seams and heavy weight interfacing give the bag a firm, sturdy body that holds its shape well and provides a professional finish inside and out. If you know how to install zippers, deal with linings and craft French seams, this pattern is ideal for you. However, if you've never done some of these things, I've provided detailed written instructions for each technique!

The finished product features a full lining, a chic bound pocket and an adjustable strap (if you want to make one!)

Perfection isn't always easy, but I've designed the pattern to make great results as simple and achievable as possible! Happy crafting!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 6.5 inch diameter by 2.5 inches thick
