Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sew a consistent 1/4" seam
  • Sew binding

Pattern Description:

Why spend a fortune to buy that designer zippered I.D pouch when you can make your own for a fraction of the price? It's zippered at the top, sports a key-ring, and includes a pocket to hold an ID in the window.

The project doesn't take much fabric or much time, so it's the perfect gift. If you are new to sewing, it might take a little longer, so be patient!

I just correct the pattern -- and added the interfacing for the pocket!!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 5" wide by 3 1/4" tall

  • Fabric Scraps
  • Vinyl
  • 7" zipper
  • Sheerweight Fusible Interfacing

You Will Also Need:

  • Non-Stick (Teflon) foot

Okay Inspired ID Wallet  July 13, 2013

Such a handy little wallet. I love that it just takes scraps. I know what's going in the stockings this year.

Okay My ID Wallet  July 11, 2013

I enjoyed making the wallet, but thought it might be a bit too advanced for me as I'm a beginner. The pattern doesnt tell you to cut interfacing for the pocket piece but on the first line, it tells you to fuse the interfacing to it. I'm going to do another one (maybe more than one) because I think I can now do a better job.

I have now made a few of these little wallets and I'm getting better. It has helped me learn a lot and some basic skills are improving. Thanks for sharing this.
