Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Advanced Beginner - Someone who has completed a few sewing projects, sewn from a pattern before and/or taken a basic sewing class.

Pattern Description:

Sew a sweet case for your iPad, Extra Large Soft Cover Moleskine, or other composition size notebook.

There are two pouches--one large one for your gadget or notebook, and a second pleated pouch on the front. The pleated pouch has a built in pen slip pocket. The pleats give it the ability to open up a bit wider so it is easy to reach inside, and it also holds a lot of stuff!

It has an "interoffice memo" style closure using two buttons and ribbon. This is a cute way to show off some big buttons (the bigger the better!) and also allows for maximum expandability.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8.5" wide x 10.75" high (22 x 27 cm)

  • 2/3 yard 42" wide exterior fabric
  • 2/3 yard 42" wide lining fabric
  • 1 1/2 yards 20" wide fusible interfacing
  • 2/3 yard 42" wide low loft fusible fleece
  • 18" of 1/4" wide ribbon
  • (2) 1" or larger buttons

You Will Also Need:

  • sewing machine, scissors, pins, hand sewing needle, thread, ruler, marking pen or chalk

Excellent Amazing Idea Pouch  December 14, 2013

This pattern is really awesome. I've made several of these and because the pattern is clearly written and well-drafted, they always turn out perfectly. My friends love the these too! You can't go wrong with this pattern.

I'm interested in all sorts of arts and crafts, but these days I stick to sewing, with the occasional outburst of embroidery. Someday I'd like to learn to knit and/or crochet, but for now I'm just about being buried alive in fabric! Adding more supplies is probably not a good idea...
