Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic use of a sewing machine, basic hand-sewing skills

Pattern Description:

Your brooch garden has never been in better bloom! Make these funky flowers in your favourite fabrics, textures and colours. Go for rich bold colours, or go monochrome with cream silks. Wear the brooches on clothing, or added as a feature to a scarf, hat or bag.

You can never have too many brooches for yourself, plus they make great presents. I have taught a range of students how to make these brooches, and have got very positive feedback on the instructions.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Smallest flower final size is just over 3 inches across, and the largest flower is about 4 1/2 inches across.

  • Basic sewing machine, fabric scraps totalling about 1/4 yard for each flower, 6 inch squares of felt, assorted buttons and beads, embroidery thread, scissors and hand-sewing needles.
