Pattern Description:

I love playing with different shapes and features and really liked how this one turned out. This modern bag is a twist on the traditional bowling bag style.

This pattern includes 3 handle styles--the handle can attach at the top or a narrow or wide handle attached at the lower seam.

Customizable inside pockets will hold your phone, pens, and other small items.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approx. 8-1/2" H x 13" W x 5" D


  • Fabric (42-44" wide cotton quilting fabric, linens or lighter weight decorator fabrics
  • 1/4 yard of the main fabric for upper front and back
  • 1/2 yard (or 2/3 yard for extended handle) of a coordinating solid or print for the lower exterior, lower lining and handles
  • 1/4 yard of a coordinating fabric for the upper front and upper back lining
  • 1/4 yard of a coordinating fabric for the lining pockets
  • 1-3/4 yards (or 1-1/2 yards for extended handle) of 20-22" medium weight woven fusible interfacing such as Pellon SF101 or Sew Lazy Face-it Soft
  • 1/4 yard (or 1/2 yard for extended handle) 45" firm fusible interfacing such as Pellon Decor Bond
  • 1 yard 20-22" nonfusible extra-firm stabilizer such as Pellon 926 or Sew Lazy Stiff Stuff
  • One 4-3/4" x 13-1/4" piece of Pellon Peltex or matte board to create a firm, flat bottom

You Will Also Need:

  • One 18" zipper (or longer)
  • Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler
  • Fabric marking pen
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine
  • Pins
  • Wonder Clips (optional)
