Basic Skills Necessary:

  • use zipper foot
  • fuse interfacing
  • make pleats
  • stitch at various seam allowances
  • trim seams

Pattern Description:

I wanted to design a clutch that had the excitement of a perfectly wrapped gift! A structured, zipped clutch where the bow is not "stuck on", instead it's integrated into the body of the front panel which gathers up to form the bow.

You can lengthen or shorten the length of the bow as desired..

My step-by-step instructions include loads of clear photos & diagrams. All measurements are quoted in both metric & inches.

Take a look at some of the clutches my customers have made on my Facebook page http://tinyurl.com/but788u

If you wish add an interesting zip pull (such as the tassel pictured), I have posted some free tutorials on my blog:

This design would suit wide variety of fabrics, including light-weight fabrics as the exterior fabric is re-inforced with fusible interfacing. Duchess satin, cotton, denim, silks, brocade, lurex etc etc.
