Basic Skills Necessary:

  • maintaining an even seam allowance while sewing
  • sewing curves

Pattern Description:

This pdf sewing pattern is fairly quick to put together and doesn't use up a whole lot of fabric! The bag is a great size for bringing along the essentials: phone, wallet, keys, a bit of makeup, etc. You can choose to carry it as a tote for extra space or fold it over and tuck it under your arm as a pretty clutch. Choose to make your bag from one just one print or add a contrasting handle. . . lot's of ways to get creative. Make a bag for yourself, as a gift, or make some to sell!

*Pattern consists of 23 pages of step by step instructions, with lots of color photos, full size printable pattern pieces, and instructions for adding a pocket and magnetic snap closure

*Skill Level: Advanced Beginners and Up

*Purchasing this pattern gives you, the buyer, license to sell bags on a handmade scale. License details included in pattern.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • approximate finished size of bag: 11.75" tall x 11.25 inches wide at widest point


  • 1/2 yard main fabric
  • 1/2 yard lining/pocket fabric
  • 1/4 yard quilt weight fabric for handles
  • 1/2 yard interlining fabric (bottom weight is recommended)
  • coordinating thread
  • 1 yard fusible interfacing (for example - Pellon ShapeFlex or 911FF)
  • 1 set 18 mm magnetic snap closures
  • small scraps of batting or fleece

You Will Also Need:

  • size 14 or larger sewing machine needle
  • fabric marking pen and other usual notions
