Basic Skills Necessary:

  • applique, sew on beads
  • use rick rack

Pattern Description:

This block was designed for the Glorious Autumn Quilter's Block Party at the Quilter's Gallery. I wanted a fun pumpkin pattern with a twist. I used an unusual color for the background and made the pumpkin afraid of spiders.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 12 1/2 inches

  • 13 1/2 inch square blue fabric
  • 6 1/2 inch square orange print fabric
  • 6 1/2 inch square orange solid fabric
  • 1 1/2 x 2 inch pale yellow fabric
  • 2 inch square of black and white print
  • 1 1/2 inch square of black fabric
  • 1 pkg. black baby rickrack
  • 2 silver sequins
  • 2 red seed beads
  • 5 1/2 inch black grosgrain ribbon (3mm wide)
  • 2 inch square brown fabric
  • 3 1/2 inch square pale orange fabric
